Many Americans Approve of Trump’s Handling of Crime: Poll


Over half of Americans approve of how President Donald Trump is handling crime, according

to an AP-NORC poll. 53% said they approve of Trump’s approach to tackling crime, including 46% of independents and 16% of Democrats, according to the poll. The survey was conducted after the president announced on Aug. 11 that he is deploying the National Guard to help stamp out violent crime in the Washington, D.C. Moreover, 55% of respondents said they think it is acceptable for the U.S. military and National Guard to aid local police.
