The U.S. murder rate fell to a historic low in 2025 — the lowest level in 125 years — after the largest annual drop in violent crime in American history. Preliminary data show the collapse continuing in the first half of 2026, with violent crime down another 10%, murders down another 23%, and rapes down another 18.6% over the same period last year. The Trump Administration has captured nine of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives — more than twice as many as the entire previous four-year Administration — and five of the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters.
