Hawley Introduces Legislation to Send $600 Tariff Rebate Checks to Americans


Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley on Monday introduced legislation that would send at

least $600 to every American adult and child in the form of a tariff rebate check that is similar to pandemic-era stimulus checks. Hawley co-authored the legislation creating COVID-19 pandemic stimulus checks in 2020, alongside Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, which provided Americans with up to $1,200 to help with financial hardships created by the pandemic. The new bill echoes the stimulus legislation.
