standing firm behind her support for turning the commonwealth into a sanctuary state if she is elected governor in November. Spanberger was speaking at the University of Virginia Center for Politics when she made the remarks. “I have been quite clear that I oppose any mandates that require localities to do the work of ICE officials,” Spanberger told moderator Dr. Larry Sabato, founder and director of the UVA Center for Politics, during the discussion.
