Wherever Musk fits exactly on the organizational spreadsheet, it was clear at the end of the
Fox News interview that he has the blessing of the president despite any controversies. While Washington bristles from the cuts, the philosophy of the Silicon Valley titan is not new. It is how he built his empire. Musk once told biographer Walter Isaacson that his “algorithm” includes such a maniacal obsession with efficiency that “if you’re not adding back at least 10% of the things you cut, you haven’t cut enough.”
