Lauren Boebert wins Republican primary, fending off centrist challenger

The primary election was Boebert’s first challenge to defend her seat after being elected to

Congress in 2020, and her victory marked another win for former President Donald Trump, who endorsed the incumbent. Boebert also faced a heavy challenge from state Democrats, as several switched party affiliations ahead of the primary to support her challenger. Boebert is poised to win reelection as the newly drawn district leans right.
