Democrats haven’t explained how abortion makes our military stronger or safer. The only
war they are focused on winning is the culture war. My hold doesn’t stop anybody from getting confirmed. I will maintain my hold on nominations until the Defense Department changes its policy and follows the Constitution. An unprecedented change to the military’s abortion policy ought to go before the people’s elected representatives in Congress. No matter what Mr. Schumer says, I’m going to keep my word.
