The government clearly wanted to place Epps away from the scene prior to Congress being
evacuated—otherwise, declining to charge him for obstruction of an official proceeding, a common felony slapped against more than 300 Capitol protesters including some who did not enter the building, makes no sense. Nothing related to the Epps does. And if “conspiracy theories” persist despite a single charge for nearly two hours of behavior that have put others behind bars, the DOJ, Epps, and the news media only have themselves to blame.
